Amy E. Macpherson
A Certified GIS Professional, Amy brought her GIS skills to DGGS in 2021. Her interests and experience have centered on hazard mapping with previous stints at the Alaska Earthquake Center and the Earth Observatory of Singapore. At DGGS she helps to maintain the data hosted on the DGGS Enterprise Geoportal and to support staff in their mapping, cartography and geospatial database publication efforts.

Interested in Open Data as a tool to facilitate planning and information sharing, and the creation and implementation of organizational cartographic standards and templates.
Professional Experience
Previously worked at the Earth Observatory of Singapore, assisting physical scientists and researchers with sourcing, preparing, and maintaining GIS datasets for critical hazard mapping in SE Asia. And most recently employed at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Alaska Earthquake Center, running Tsunami Evacuation models and generating maps for coastal Alaskan communities.
