Description:
Open Data compliance, FGDC metadata, and data stewardship is an ongoing program to ensure public access, federal data standards, and responsible stewardship of the interpretive and raw data products created by DGGS scientists. Project responsibilities include publication database development and archiving, providing FDGC-compliant metadata, and compiling machine-readable data products for online distribution. Geospatial and analytical datasets published by DGGS are designed to be compatible with a wide variety of digital mapping software, to present DGGS's geospatial data in multiple ways, and to provide the State with a comprehensive repository of geoscientific data that the Division collects and distributes.
